Linguistic High School

The Linguistic High School is designed for those seeking foreign language instruction, combining traditional teaching with new multimedia approaches, to acquire the essential tools for European integration and to develop a knowledge of reality that expresses itself through new methods and behaviors.

The Pascal private linguistic high school in Turin fosters a profound cultural and mental openness. Alongside mastery of three foreign languages, it provides students with tools to understand and respect other cultures. It offers frequent opportunities to practice the languages studied in real-world situations, such as visits by foreign school groups, cultural exchanges, language internships, e-twinning, and Erasmus+ mobility.

The experience of immersion and communicative exposure is also encouraged:

  • by the presence of a native speaker teacher;
  • from the CLIL methodology in all classes of the second two-year period and of the fifth year, which allows the teaching of non-linguistic subjects in one of the foreign languages studied by the organization of multicultural events;
  • from obtaining language certifications;
  • from the adoption of the Finnish method.

Chinese option

Starting in the 2024/2025 school year, a Chinese option has been activated, allowing students to study Chinese as a second language. Find more information about the curriculum here.

GOALS

  • Knowledge of European languages (English, French, Spanish, German);
  • to instill in students a "linguistic mindset" aimed at fostering intercultural openness and a confident willingness to engage in dialogue;
  • ensure the acquisition of adequate skills in the use of the linguistic medium;
  • provide a particular ability in dealing with communication in a foreign language, including using IT tools.

In the specific case of students certified as having DSA (Specific Learning Disabilities) and SEN (Special Educational Needs), it is important to consider how, in addition to experiencing significant learning difficulties, they may develop: a lack of motivation to learn, a sense of frustration and inadequacy, and low self-esteem, potentially translating into agitated or, conversely, withdrawn attitudes and behaviors.
