LAND ART

Pascal Institute: a bridge between education and the local community.

The Pascal Institute in Chieri stands out not only for its educational excellence, but also for its strong commitment to sharing educational experiences with the local community. This commitment is expressed through initiatives that bring together students, teachers, and the local community, such as the LAND ART project, scheduled for May 16th at the Consolata Park in Chieri.

From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., second- and fourth-year students at the scientific high school will have the opportunity to explore the connection between art and nature under the guidance of artist Tegi Canfari.
This project aims to intertwine natural elements with innovative artistic forms, creating a synergy that enhances the environment and promotes experiential learning.

Professor Monica Ferri will coordinate the young artists in this creative journey, transforming Consolata Park into an open-air laboratory. Second-year science students will create works that reflect their experiences and worldview, while fourth-year students will take part in a theatrical performance inspired by Italo Calvino’s novel, The Baron in the Trees. This intersection of artistic languages—visual and theatrical—perfectly embodies the Institute’s multidisciplinary approach.

The event will be further enhanced by the presence of Councilor Antonella Giordano, who will inaugurate the exhibition of the students’ works. Her participation underscores the importance of culture and art in the Chieri area, highlighting the value of collaborations between educational institutions and local governments.

The LAND ART project is not only an opportunity for students to express themselves artistically; it is also an example of shared education. Collaborations like this strengthen the bond between school and community, demonstrating how art can serve as a catalyst for outdoor learning and raise awareness of the beauty of our environment.

The students’ works will be on display in the park throughout the weekend, offering residents the opportunity to appreciate the fruits of the work and dedication of these young talents. This event represents a small but significant step toward greater integration between education and the surrounding social context.
