What is it?

We are a Cambridge International School, part of a global network of over 10,000 schools, including 300 institutions in Italy, that follow a high-quality international curriculum. We have adopted the Cambridge Primary program for our elementary school and the Cambridge Lower Secondary program for our middle school, providing a global education program for students aged 5 to 14.

SUBJECTS

Elementary School:

English as a Second Language (ESL)

The ESL program is designed to develop essential language skills in young students. Through interactive activities, role-playing, and group projects, children learn to communicate in English with confidence and precision. The program covers reading, writing, language use, listening, and speaking, fostering an active and engaging learning approach.

Science

Science is taught through a hands-on, experimental approach which stimulates curiosity and critical thinking. Students explore basic scientific concepts in biology, chemistry, and physics through experiments and laboratory activities that encourage deep understanding and respect for the scientific method.

Music

The music program allows students to explore the world of sound, developing skills in listening, composition, and performance. Students learn about different musical instruments, fundamental music theory, and are encouraged to express their creativity through composition and improvisation.

Art

Art instruction focuses on creative exploration and personal expression. Students learn to use various materials and techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, and collage, and additionally study the works of famous artists to understand the various artistic styles and movements.

Middle School:

English as a Second Language (ESL)

At the middle school level, the ESL program strengthens and expands the language skills acquired. Students delve into advanced reading and writing skills, analyze complex texts, and develop fluent listening and speaking abilities through discussions, presentations, and collaborative activities.

Art & Technology

The art program for middle school encourages students to further develop their artistic abilities through advanced projects and exploration of cultural and historical themes. Students explore more sophisticated artistic techniques and learn to express ideas and emotions through their art, promoting a deeper understanding of art history and criticism.

Global Perspectives

This subject aims to develop a thorough understanding of global issues and encourage critical and intercultural thinking. Through research, discussion, and collaboration on topics such as the environment, human rights, and sustainability, students learn to consider different perspectives and formulate informed opinions on global issues.

Assessment Methods

At the end of the middle school cycle, students take Cambridge Checkpoint exams in the subjects covered by the program. These exams are assessed by Cambridge International, which provides the school with detailed feedback on each student's performance, including:

  • The Cambridge Checkpoint score obtained in each subject
  • Specific evaluation for each developed skill
  • A statement showing the studied subjects and their respective scores
