Spring Awakening: An Act of Love for Our Students

Nowruz, celebrated on March 21st, marks the beginning of the Persian New Year and is an event deeply rooted in Zoroastrianism, representing a time of rebirth and renewal of nature. Although we do not celebrate Nowruz in our schools at the Pascal Institute in Chieri, we recognize the symbolic importance of the holiday and join in the awakening of spring, which brings with it an energy of hope and happiness. This time of year offers the perfect opportunity to explore the concept of renewal and new beginnings, reflecting on what unites us.

Nowruz represents not only a change of date, but a true awakening of nature, manifested in the rising light and the awakening of flowers, similar to the energy we feel with the arrival of spring. Even though we do not celebrate the Iranian New Year, we embrace the emotions that accompany this celebration, embracing the intense symbolism of the springtime beauty that surrounds us.

During this time, our students manifest the joy and energy that characterize the awakening of spring. Every smile and every moment of enthusiasm represents the renewed light typical of this season. Likewise, the professors at the Pascal Institute, with their guidance and support, create an environment that nurtures this prosperity. As spring dawns, we realize how precious the bonds we form are and how crucial our shared journey is.
In this time of transition, we explore Nowruz rituals and traditions, such as Haft Sin, the symbolic table set to celebrate the Iranian New Year. Each element on the table represents an aspect of life: hope, health, and abundance. These symbols, even if they are not part of our traditions, can serve as inspiration for us. We recognize the value of a table rich in meaning and symbols that represent a bright future.

Just as Nowruz celebrates the victory of light over darkness, the arrival of spring is a time of great importance; it invites us to renew ourselves. The blooms of spring and the increase in daylight serve as metaphors for the opportunities that await us. This season, we celebrate our love of nature, the welcoming light, and the warmth that radiates from our hearts.
Likewise, in every classroom and every interaction, we recognize the importance of community, collaboration, and mutual support. This time of growth and renewal is reflected not only in nature, but also in our educational process.

The awakening of spring, therefore, is an act of love. It is a time of reflection and renewal that encourages us to continue our journey with enthusiasm. Even if we don’t celebrate Nowruz, we honor the beauty of life and the power of nature, thus affirming our connection to the world around us. With open hearts and eyes filled with wonder, we welcome spring, its scent, its warmth, and its promise of new beginnings.
