Spring Festival at Daisy

Festa di Primavera

Saturday, March 29th, a day that seemed to come straight out of a spring dream: the doors of Daisy Elementary School swing open, revealing an enchanted world. But it’s no ordinary day: a white rabbit, with a curious little eye, awaits us at the entrance, while fluttering golden threads dance in the wind, promising adventure and fun!
Colorful loungers invite you to relax, tires stand like trampolines for jumping and having fun, and a dartboard with colorful darts stands ready for friendly challenges. Normally, when you enter the courtyard, the school appears like this.
But it’s a special day. It’s the “Spring Festival,” and everything is decorated for the occasion: twinkling lights, fluttering flags, and adorable, colorful unicorns fill the air with magic.

Four themed corners welcome young visitors: one dedicated to reading, with a teepee where they can lose themselves in the pages of enchanting stories; the duck fishing corner, which transports everyone to the fun of 1980s amusement parks; a place to decorate Easter eggs, where imagination can run wild; and finally, a table for unlimited coloring and stamping!
But the real star of the party? Face painting! The children, with enthusiastic smiles, ask for hearts, flowers, stars, but also surprising transformations: cats, princesses, tigers, and so on!
Leading this whirlwind of joy are the girls and teachers of Pascal High School, an ideal bridge between generations, alongside the elementary school children, the new students entering first grade in September, and the little ones from the “La casa di Dada” preschool in Pecetto. And in the background, baby dance music creates a lively atmosphere, getting small groups of children moving as they explore the corners designed especially for them.

But it’s not just a party: parents of preschool children have the opportunity to take a tour of the school. They enter through the wooden entrance, where the little ones leave their shoes, and discover raincoats and rubber boots ready for outdoor play between classes. The cafeteria with its white wooden tables, a bright corridor filled with toys, a small kitchen, a bookcase full of stories to discover, and even a foosball table! There are large cushions scattered everywhere for moments of relaxation.

At Daisy, learning is a journey inspired by Finnish teaching methods. The children immerse themselves in Italian, math, history, and geography, then move to the art and music room, where, with the native English-speaking teacher, they try their hand at playing instruments and building creativity.
But there’s no time to waste! Under the bright sun, snack time calls, and laughter echoes as children of all ages run after a ball.

And as a grand finale to the party, here’s the rainbow-colored piñata, ready to explode in a shower of candy! How magical to see the little ones with bright eyes as they collect sweets and have fun together. On this day, more than ever, we feel that unity is strength and that few things in the world are as beautiful as the smiles of children having fun. It was a special day, a moment that will remain in everyone’s hearts!
